Q. Why was George Washington able to sail a silver dollar across the Potomac River?
A. A dollar went further in those days.
But in 2021, not so much.
Consider having a family office that is a fee-only fiduciary.
Our office can help you --
Draft a thoughtful investment plan and carry it out.
Consolidate investment accounts, for simplicity.
Create and keep up a list of all your financial assets.
Keep track of your cash, and help move it when and where it is needed.
Advise on charitable giving, and Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs.
Work with your CPA to provide data for tax planning and tax return preparation.
Advise on Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from retirement plans.
For estate planning, provide account data to your estate attorneys & help you carry out the plan, for example to draft new account applications for you to sign.
For Sec. 529 education accounts for children and grandchildren, draft an application for you to sign.
Determine if you are cutting into capital.
See if you are on track either to leave a legacy, or outlive your money.
Advise what to do after a family member dies.
And our office is also a place to talk about your money questions and the latest financial bee in your bonnet.
Our people:
Perry Seiffert, JD
Alexia Larson, CFA
Kathy O'Brien
Conveniently located near Bethesda Metro Center.

You've probably seen Carole Rogentine conducting a recorder group during a Cedar Lane service. Would you like to learn how to play? Carole is offering one 60-minute lesson to get you started. Lesson to be held at a mutually-agreeable time on Zoom during the pandemic.
Carole Rogentine completed her graduate studies in Musicology and Music Education at American University and University of Maryland and received both a B.A. in Humanities and B.S. in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. She completed training in the Orff and Kodaly Methods as well as Suzuki Method at the Peabody Conservatory Suzuki Institute. Carole has studied the recorder at Oberlin Baroque Institute, with Eve Legene at the University of Indiana Recorder Institute and privately with Marrie Bremer, Brooke Jaron, Scott Reiss, Nina Stern and John Tyson.
Discuss the financial bees in your bonnet confidentially in a one-hour consultation with a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor with 35 years of experience, who has been a Cedar Lane member for 45 years.
You may wish to talk about investments, tracking cash, charitable giving, Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from retirement plans, estate planning, Sec. 529 education accounts for children and grandchildren, cutting into capital, or whether or not you're on a path to outlive your money.
The meeting can be at our office, or your home, or remotely, per your preference.
